About the Farm: Nestled in Costa Rica's Tarrazu region, La Candelilla Estate thrives in the fertile volcanic soil of the Talamanca Mountains. Managed by the Sanchez family, the estate represents three generations of passionate coffee cultivation. The seven siblings, known as the Cuatro Hermanas (Four Sisters) and their brothers, oversee the farm and its pioneering micromill, which they started in 2000 as a response to the low coffee prices offered by larger cooperatives.

Named for the fireflies that illuminate the estate on summer nights, La Candelilla was the first of its kind in Costa Rica, setting a standard for small-scale, high-quality coffee processing. Today, La Candelilla produces coffee that is as rich in history as it is in flavor, embodying a dedication to sustainability and excellence.
