This special coffee comes to us from the Cuatro Hermanas or 4 sisters who produce amazing small lots of coffee and help manage the renowned La Candelilla Micro Mill. This year’s microlot offers delicious notes of cane sugar, grapefruit and pineapple.

This is one of our special Direct Trade coffees from La Candelilla. Elsa, Luisa, Miriam, and Ana all contribute to what makes this special mill in the Tarrazu region of San Jose Costa Rica so incredible. The family consists of 7 in total all having their own land to cultivate coffee (4 sisters and 3 brothers – all of whom are 3rd generation coffee producers). The micro-mill and coffee farms are located on the land where the family grew up in Tarrazu. In the summer nights you can see many fireflies that are called in Spanish “Candelillas” (Luciérnagas). Due to the incredible number of them, a great uncle named the place La Candelilla. “We are motivated by the love our parents have for coffee production and the desire to transfer all that passion to our children.” – Las Hermanas

Great coffee, makes a delicious pour over at an approachable price point

Quality beans and expertly roasted as always from magnolia, enjoyed some tasty pour overs with this one. Only problem is it was gone too quickly :)
